This interior home painting project included the installation of crown moulding, custom door casing around all of the doorways, new baseboards and quarter round. The front hall, the main floor hall, the stairway and the entire second floor hall were painted and finished as one continuous room. A chair rail set to a much lower height was also installed for the entire perimeter, following up the stairs and around the second floor hallway. Everything from the chair rail to the baseboard was painted white to match the trim and create the illusion of wainscoting without the expense of extra material or labor. This faux wainscoting adds a lot of visual interest to otherwise plain looking rooms. The walls were sanded smooth and repaired, primed and painted a deeper cream yellow color that offsets the white trim. The walls are so much more vibrant looking that even the decor stands out better. This project was for a home located in Ottawa.
